Dishonourable?
Well, today, I was finishing off my AB zaishen quest, and first game I had, everyone on kurz resigned, because we were getting trashed. I play a few more games with my team, get a couple of wins, then our whole team resigned again, we loaded back into grenz, and we've got dishonourable? Why is this, it's not like I made my team resign, they all did it by choice, and yet we get dishonourable, just seems a bit strange, that's all. Anyone tell me why this is?
*Edit* To make it clear, I did resign, i'm not saying i didn't, but when half your team have given up and resigned, no chance. And i'm not going to waste my time trying to slow down opposite team, when i'm going to get next to no faction + that in no way helps me complete my z quest, which was the whole point. Atleast if I resign, I can get back into the game straight away, rather than wasting time fighting a pointless cause

They probably reported you since you didn't resign like them too and they didn't like it. Oh wait the whole TEAM had dishonorable? Guess others didn't like that they left.

lmao
Nice to know players like you who quit before started the fight get f**ked over like this, so annoying entering a battle and seeing players resign etc, and leaving them that have gone into the game for a fun fight under manned because you dont feel like it or have got ur bonuses.
Nice one

The fight was halfway through, and the WHOLE kurzick side resigned. I didn't even start the resigning, but when half of the people do, looks like the game is going nowhere. And yes, i'm QQing, because i think it's stupid that the whole side resigns, and I get dishonourable

If you resigned you broke the rule, if your whole team was gone the match would only have lasted another minute or 2 at the most.

Because wasting opponent's time to bitter end is honorable.

Please get a life and some grammar lessons.
The difference between AB and others is that while every other PvP instances will require everyone's consent to resign, AB requires and causes only 1/3 of the entire side to resign, leaving others no choice but to resign themselves or get creamed. Resigning is not 'breaking the rules,' but rather, it's to discourage people from doing it too frequently. The obvious solution would be to require everyone on one side to consent for resigning.

You said the whole side resigned....yet avoid specifically saying that you also resigned.
Your team resigned therefore you all earned dishonor for leaving the match before it was over.
10 Dishonor points = Dishonorable Hex
You each earn 5 dishonor points each time you resigned.
From wiki....
Dishonor points will remain on the player's account for a total of 60 minutes. If further dishonor points are acquired during this period, that account is once again given the Dishonorable status, though for a longer period of time due to the accumulation of points.
* To clear dishonor points from an account, a player must go 60 minutes without accumulating any new dishonor points.

QFT.........
I'm not leaving, ever. This happened to me the other day as well. After the gates opened it was only 4 people fighting, the four on my team. Of course we got trashed, but it just made me remember why I typically never go into AB's.

If my entire team resigns and I don't so be it i'll keep playing, they can report me all they want, and when they do, and the message "blahblahtank has been reported for leeching" pops up, I'll just screenshot that good stuff while im playing in the middle of a honest fight and ill go ahead and open a support ticket with anet, attach the screenie and let them know that idiots STILL abuse the report system. I love seeing people get owned for abusing the report system. It says right in the window about how you can get banned for abusing the report function. LOL. Then some idiots get their friends and chain report someone then wonder why they keep getting consistent suspends till a perma ban. Internet is win.

Agreed and I think using /resign should count just like a quit so these people can't just stop playing because they are losing. You joined the match, finish the match. Anet really needs to get strict on this /resign mess. Longer dishonor times would work like 30 minutes instead of 10 minutes.

Instead of resigning just type /dance and minimize GW and go surf the web for a bit. If you're gonna get dishonoured for resigning with the team anyways you might as well risk getting reported for leeching and try to earn that losing game faction. Can't believe how many times I have to do that when the Z quest was active, so many idiots being there just for the coins.

Now I am an ignorant pve player with very little experience of pvp having played less than a dozen times.
Let me get this right there is a resign command
If you resign you might get a dishonorable marker
People who get this may not always deserve it
people get upset
So Wouldn't it be possible to remove the resign command from the players altogether and have the game itself decide to end a game when certain conditions are met.
Of course if players just leave and log off then there would still be the dishonorable for that.
leave too many times on the trot and you get penalised play honorably for so many games and the counter gets reset to zero.
Anyway what the heck do I know

THE REASON AB IS DIFFERENT IS BECAUSE RESIGNING LEAVES 8 OTHER PLAYERS IN THE GAME
There. So much misinformation going on in this thread. You get dishonor for resigining in AB (but not in other forms of PvP) because when your team of 4 resigns, your team leaves, but you leave behind the other 2 teams of 4 players on your side who are now outnumbered. The dishonor is awarded because your leaving screwed over them.
